Ibrahim AS and Ismail AS, story is a great portrayal of total submission and Ibrahim AS being the point where all major three religions found their root from there is lots to be learned from
Some being for an old father who has begged and prayed for his only child (explain how precious Ismail would be for him) and when being asked to put up for sacrifice did not ask or pray for an alternate; then when he asked Ismail and mention his dream he did not order him to get ready for sacrifice but ask what he thinks about it (mutual Consensus) and then Ismail response for a kid was phenomenal (speaks how he was raised) “”O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast” and In end God does not took away anything from Ibrahim (only it was a trial) but increase rewards for him and every year we remember and follow his tradition
37:100 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous.” So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said,
“O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think.” He said, “O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast.”
And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, We called to him, “O Abraham, You have fulfilled the vision.” Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
Indeed, this was the clear trial. And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.
